'I don't want to think about it': Mohamed Salah appears to admit he WILL LEAVE Liverpool next summer
Mohamed Salah appeared to confirm that this is his last season with Liverpool in his post-match interview at Manchester United.
The Reds defeated their rivals 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Salah scoring and providing two assists.
He put himself in the Premier League history books in the process, too.
But after sending Liverpool fans into a frenzy at the game, Salah made the hearts of Reds fans drop into their stomachs when he spoke to Sky Sports after his side's win.
Speaking about his team's excellent start to the season, he said: “I've had a good summer, I've had a lot of time to work on myself and think positively because, as you know, this is my last year at the club.
“I just want to enjoy it and I don't want to think about it.
“I feel free to play football and we'll see what happens next year.”
Salah has been at Liverpool since 2017, signing from Roma for an initial fee of £36.5m.
Since then, the winger has been a key player for the Reds and has established himself as a legend at Anfield.
He was a vital part of Jürgen Klopp's side that won the Premier League in 2020 and the Champions League in 2019, as well as other honours in that time.
And Liverpool fans affectionately dub him 'the Egyptian King'.
In 351 appearances, he has scored 213 goals and 90 assists.
That makes him the club's third-highest scorer in history, surpassed only by Roger Hunt (262) and Ian Rush (339).
But with his contract set to expire next June, Liverpool fans fear this could be the last campaign they see of Salah in red.
“Before the game, I said: 'Look, this could be the last time (at Old Tafford),'” Salah continued.
“Nobody has talked to me about a contract, so I will play my last season and we will see at the end of the season.
“It doesn't depend on me, it depends on the club, but we'll see.”
And it seems his Liverpool teammates are also keen on him staying.
Speaking to talkSPORT after the match, Salah's team-mate Ryan Gravenberch said: “If you watch him today, he's a very good player and very good for the club, but in the end the decision is his.
“If it's me, I want Mo to stay.”
