“I love the North West. I knew all the Liverpool players, Jamie Redknapp, David James, Robbie Fowler, where I was with England, it was easy to fit in.
“I also felt that the Liverpool fans would accept me, and they did, they were incredible.
“My job is to play football and support my family. That's what I'm going to do.
“If that means playing two years at Liverpool, that's what I'll do.
“I could have gone to Chelsea, but I felt comfortable in the northwest, I felt Liverpool had a chance of winning the Premier League.
“They just didn't have that mental side that Man United had.
“I saw an avenue where if I could give them a bit of Manchester experience over six years of what it takes to win a title and how to behave and train properly, we might have a chance.”
Ince won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups during his six years at United and is held in high regard by his fans, as well as his midfield partner Roy Keane.
