'I would be furious': Former Chelsea manager Jody Morris reveals how he would have handled Noni Madueke's 'disrespectful' gesture
Former Chelsea assistant Jody Morris says he would have instantly pulled Noni Madueke out of the tunnel after his substitution.
The blues winger made the exit abrupt after being substituted during Sunday's 1-1 draw against Arsenal.
His antics were discovered by the crowd at Stamford Bridge, with Morris, who was previously Chelsea assistant manager, unhappy with the winger's behaviour.
When asked how he would react as a coach if one of his players had done the same, the former Blues said talkSPORT's Inside Chelsea: “I would be furious.
“Listen, sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that may have occurred before this happened, you never know.
“Sometimes players have little issues and complain about it and then try to act like they're going through the tunnel because they're injured.
“But no, I would be furious and I think we have a coach who would address that instantly, which I think the best do.
“It's not only disrespectful to your teammates but also to the fans.
“We're all sitting there, we're all watching the game and someone doesn't want to watch it simply because they're not on the field at the end.
“But it's not the first time we've seen it with football players around the country and heard, if it's resolved quickly, which I think the best coaches do.
“If they had fixed him, probably in the locker room they would have taken him out immediately, that's what I personally would have done anyway. Maybe I would have called him back to the tunnel.”
Madueke had made his tenth consecutive Premier League start against the Gunners.
However, it was withdrawn by Enzo Maresca in the 68th minute and replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk.
The change saw Pedro Neto move to the right side, where Madueke had been playing.
Neto equalized for the hosts just two minutes after the change, with the goal securing a point for his team.
The result leaves Chelsea third in the table on goal difference after 11 games.
They remain ahead of London rivals Arsenal but are now nine points behind the leaders. Liverpool.
