'I'm not crazy about it': Arsenal fans enraged by leak of third kit that resembles Premier League rivals' shirt
They say if you can't beat them, join them.
And judging by the leaked images of ArsenalThe supposed third kit for the 2024/25 season, that is exactly what the North Londoners have done.
Gunners fans were left scratching their heads at the sky blue color scheme of the shirt, which is eerily similar to that of their Premier League rivals. City of Manchester.
Arsenal would be forgiven for trying to emulate City after falling short to the Citizens in their title fight last season, with the two clubs once again tangled for top honors this season.
Since 2019, Arsenal have hired City's assistant manager. Mikel Arteta To become his boss, his set piece coach, Nicolas Jover, as well as the star duo Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
And now supporters believe they are taking inspiration from City's home shirt, leading many to claim they will refuse to wear it.
Responding to the leaked photosone disgruntled Arsenal fan posted on
Another commented: “It looks like a Manchester City shirt. I'm not crazy about it. Adidas must be able to create a better color combination than this.”
A third added: “I like it but have some reservations about it looking like the Manchester City kit.”
This Gooner then commented: “I'm not sure I agree with the City's color.”
And this unimpressed fan said: “Looks a bit like a Manchester City kit to me. I'm fine. NO thanks.”
Rival fans have also spoken out, with one user posting: “Arsenal want to be Manchester City so much they're taking their home kit.”
Meanwhile, one Citizens fan simply said: “Trying as hard as I can to be City.”
But what may convince Arsenal fans to buy the third kit is the introduction of the Adisas trefoil logo.
Several iconic Arsenal shirts from 1986 to 1994 featured the trefoil logo, including the 'Bruised Banana' away shirt worn from 1991 to 1993.
It is believed that all of Adidas' top teams (Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich) will have the trefoil on their third kits next season.
But judging by the reaction from fans, Adidas may have to rethink their design for the Arsenal shirt.
