Brighton was keen about the 25-year-old Foxes academy graduate before Chelsea agreed a £30million deal.

Ahead of the official announcement, Dewsbury-Hall all but confirmed the transfer on Instagram in a lengthy post about his boyhood club.

“Well, what can I say?” he said. “It's been an incredible journey. I've dedicated 17 years of my life to this club and it's been a pleasure. I've enjoyed every minute of my time at this football club and I've created memories and friendships that I'll never forget.

“When we were relegated in the 22/23 season, I felt personally responsible for my role in that. I set myself a target of ensuring we got back into the Premier League in the first season as I know how devastating it can be for a club to be in that position if it doesn't happen.

“I'm very proud of what we achieved together last season – creating unforgettable memories for all of us. But, more than that, I hope I helped to right the wrongs of that relegation season.”

“I have been truly touched by the overwhelming amount of messages I have received over the past few days and I thank each and every person for taking the time to do so, it means a lot to me and my family.

“I want to thank all the teammates I've played with, the coaches I've worked with and the fans I've grown up with.

“I am glad to be leaving the club with them in the Premier League, where they belong, and I wish Leicester City all the best for the coming season and beyond.

“I'm one of you, Leicester. But it's time for me to go now…

“Thanks for bringing me, KDH.”

The Englishman joined Leicester's academy at the age of eight and made his debut in January 2020.

He played 129 times for the Foxes in all competitions and leaves on a friendly basis after helping them return to the Premier League.

Dewsbury-Hall was named in the 2023/24 Championship team of the season and won multiple individual awards at the King Power last season.
