Ipswich Town on Wednesday night agreed a £21million fee with Aston Villa for winger Jaden Philogene.
The 22-year old was also wanted by Everton but Ipswich have moved quickly to agree terms and Philogene has agreed to the move after speaking to Portman Road boss Kieran McKenna who also tried to sign him in the summer.
Philogene is due to have a medical on Thursday, calling time on his second stint at his boyhood club.
The player re-joined Villa just six months ago on a five-year deal from Hull, with Unai Emery‘s side pipping Ipswich to the post after the Tigers gave the club the right to match any bid tabled for him.
He had previously made three Premier League appearances for the club, and was part of the travelling party for a pre-season tour of the United States in 2023 before departing for the Championship side.
Philogene had also spent time on loan at Cardiff and Stoke before his move to Hull, where he scored 12 goals in his 32 Championship appearances.

The winger’s return from a successful season at Hull City saw him fail to make an impact
When asked about transferring back in July, Philogene said that he felt that returning to Villa was like he was ‘back home’.
But the player has been unable to make a mark under Emery, failing to score or register an assist across any of his 15 appearances.
Philogene has made just two Premier League starts this term, and was left out of the squad altogether for December ties against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.
But Ipswich will hope he refinds his footing as the club fights to stay in the Premier League over the second half of the season.
Along with Philogene, the Tractor Boys have also completed a loan move for Atalanta defender Ben Godfrey, as he seeks regular first-team football after making just one substitute appearance in Serie A since his move to the club in the summer.
