Ipswich Town have submitted a significant bid for Hull City defender Jacob Greaves, talkSPORT understands.
Hull are believed to value centre-back Greaves at more than £20m.
The defender was an immensely valuable asset to the Tigers last season, scoring twice in 43 appearances as he helped Hull finish in seventh place in the Championship.
His performances earned him a place in the 2023/24 Championship Team of the Season, as well as the Hull City Player of the Year award.
The 23-year-old has been at the club since he was just eight years old, having spent just one loan spell at Cheltenham Town between 2019 and 2020.
The defender's links with the club go back a long way, as his father is none other than former Hull defender Mark Greaves.
But with Ipswich City Determined to make a strong start to their 2024/25 Premier League campaign, Greaves could be tempted by the lure of playing top-flight football for Kieran McKenna's side.
Ipswich achieved promotion to the Premier league after a 22-year absence and have been buoyed by the news that their sought-after manager will remain in charge of the club next season.
Meanwhile, Greaves is not the only Hull player who could be leaving the club this summer.
Winger Jaden Philogene is also on the radar of several Premier League clubs with talkSPORT had previously reported Everton's interest in the 22-year-old.
While the striker would be a big loss for Hull, club owner Alcun Ilicali admitted to talkSPORT that if he wanted to leave then the club would be better off selling him.
“If you ask me, I told my fans that I wouldn't sell anyone. My idea in football is not to make money. My idea in football is to make a bigger and stronger club.
“But to make a club bigger, sometimes if a player says 'I want to go', that's a different case because for me changing a player is not the end of the world.
“But I would never want to ruin the career or the mood of any of my players by putting pressure on them because of the contract I have. So in that case, if Jadon wants to leave and says he wants to go somewhere, it's his life.”
“I love all my boys so much, so for me, I'm also responsible for their careers. They don't have to play with us if they don't want to.”
