As a result, Spurs sit 11th in the table and are on an excellent run, having won just one of their last 11 games in all competitions.

After having conceded three goals against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup On Thursday, Spurs have conceded nine goals in the space of four days and sections of the media discuss their enthusiastic attacking style.

Among the critics is Jamie Carragherwho believes Tottenham's defensive problems are their fault. Postecoglou subsequently labeled some of the comments as “disrespectful.”

Therefore, when asked about his tactics after the defeat against Liverpool, the Australian coach was not happy.

talking to bbc Sport on Sunday night, the Spurs boss said: “I'm going to stop answering these questions.

“If people can't see the obvious, I'm not going to point it out. Make it what you want, yes, we concede goals.

“If you want to discount that we are missing a goalkeeper, two center backs and a left back and that has not coincided with what we are doing… I don't know what to say anymore.

“I think people make decisions in their own way. They think what I'm doing is good or bad, and that's fine.

“It's quite significant. If you take out Liverpool's goalkeeper, two centre-backs and a left-back, or any team other than Liverpool, they would find it difficult to do that too.”

Postecoglou was asked a similar question in his press conference, which led him to cover his face with his hands.

It came after Tottenham lost 6-3 to Liverpool.

He reluctantly responded: “I think I have been very patient over the last 18 months sitting here answering the same questions over and over again.

“If people want me to change my approach, that's not going to change.

“We do it for a reason, we do it because we believe it will help us succeed.

“If people don't understand the circumstances we're in right now, the challenges we have from a team perspective are as obvious as you want to make them.

“I have this idea that people think they should just flip a switch and change and somehow that will miraculously make us a better team.

“It is what it is. I'm going to continue, focus on trying to build this team to be the team we want.

Postecoglou will be determined to silence his critics in no time
