That positivity has now been backed up by Arteta, who spoke before the Bournemouth game.

In his Friday morning press conference, the Arsenal boss revealed: “(Saka) is not a serious injury.

“He's progressing very well. He's done some things in the last two days.

“I was not fit to play for the national team in the second match, but we are hopeful.

“We have a training session this afternoon, he did some things yesterday, let's see if he can make it on time.”

Saka has started every game in all competitions for Arsenal this season, underlining his importance to the team.

The 23-year-old has also been in good form for the Gunners, registering seven Premier League assists in as many games.
