But it wasn't because of an injury; It was because he suffered from an illness.
Postecoglou confirmed this before the start of the match: “He arrived today and was not at his best, due to the bad weather.
“We sent him home and hopefully he'll make a full recovery and be ready for the next one.”
The next game is a trip to his old club. Bournemouth on Thursday night.
So, with Solanke ruled out just before the game, Tottenham had to shuffle and it was Son Heung-min leading the line.
He started centrally, with Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner wide in the top three.
But they struggled in front of goal in the first half, failing to break the deadlock and only shooting five times.
Johnson finally broke the deadlock early in the second half to give his team the lead, however Tom Cairney equalized for Fulham and the game ended 1–1.
Losing Solanke for another game would be a big blow for Spurs as he has been an ever-present since joining.
Postecoglou noted that his loss had an impact on the team after the game, referencing the absence of other forwards.
He said: “It doesn't help (Solanke missed the game). That's plus Richarlison is out, Wilson (Odobert) is out and Mikey Moore is out. We're pretty short at the top.”
So far this season, Solanke has scored four goals and provided two assists in 10 Premier League games.
Although his role is not limited to just scoring, as he plays a very important role in the preparation of each match.
As mentioned, Tottenham's next opponent is Bournemouth, who Solanke will be desperate to face.
He left the Cherries in the summer for £65million after spending five years and making more than 200 appearances for the club.
Postecoglou is likely to give another update on Solanke's condition before the match, but is hopeful his striker has recovered in time.
