Isco looked destined to make Spain's Euro 2024 squad before suffering a broken leg just days before the end of the 2023-24 season. Since then, he has been working his way back to full fitness, with the intention of taking part in Real Betis' first match of the new campaign – against Girona next Thursday.
He is yet to feature for Betis during their pre-season games, but that could change on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen. It is because Isco has now returned to group training with Manuel Pellegrini's team, as per Brand.
Isco was one of the best players in La Liga last season, and is sure to be a crucial player once again for Betis during the 2024-25 campaign. He probably isn't fit enough to start against Girona at the Benito Villamarin next week, but he should at least be in the matchday squad – as long as there are no games between now and next Thursday.
