Liverpool icon John Arne Riise has been showing off his impressive new physique after taking part in a Norwegian reality TV show.
Riise He was one of six contestants in a series titled '16 Weeks of Hell', a series where celebrities are pushed to their physical limits and undergo a strict diet to change their lives.
Ahead of the series, Riise spoke about why she wanted to get involved in the show.
“I want to become a machine again,” Riise said. according to the Norwegian media Dagbladet.
“It's been a while since I stopped playing football, so it will be exciting to see how much of a machine I can become.
“I want to get back to my daily routines with both training and diet, push my limits, eat well and feel good when I look in the mirror.”
And after 16 weeks of physical punishment and completely transforming her diet, Riise looks unrecognizable.
Riise, who made more than 340 appearances for Liverpool During his seven seasons at the club, he shared a before and after photo on his Instagram to show off his new look.
The 44-year-old wrote: “Before and after. Hard work and dedication to the diet changed everything for me. Let's go to 2025.”

in a interview with the Norwegian channel TV 2Riise went into detail about how problematic her diet was before the show.
Riise drank three or four cans of energy drinks a day and ate chocolate and chips at night.
“It's a scandal that he let this get this far,” Riise said.
Now he has swapped chocolate and chips for dates and grapes.
“I didn't eat any sweets in those 16 weeks,” Riise said.
Riise also cut out alcohol completely.
In terms of physical training, Riise completed 162 sessions in 112 days.
Riise also shared that one of his biggest motivations for wanting to get involved in the program was when he looked at photos of himself during his time as a coach at Norwegian club Avaldsnes.
He came out of retirement for the second time to join the club as a player at the age of 42 in June 2023 and even scored on his debut.
But he eventually hung up his boots for the third and final time as he transitioned into a coaching role.
It was during this period that Riise lost control of her physical lifestyle, although she didn't know it at the time.
“I didn't think it was that bad,” Riise said.
“But then I look at before and after pictures and I'm like, 'What the hell? What happened? Why did it go this far?'”
In the interview with TV 2, Riise confirmed that he would like to train again.
It would take something special for Riise's coaching career to match what he accomplished as a player.
Riise participated as a player in more than 700 matches around the world, with stints in France, England, Italy, Norway and even India.
But it was his time at Anfield for which he is undoubtedly best known.
Riise earned a reputation as an energetic left back with a thunderous left boot who scored goals from distance.
He also helped Liverpool win their first Champions League in 21 years, when they beat AC Milan in 2005.
