'It's not true!': Riccardo Calafiori's girlfriend claims a post revealing he has finalised his move to Arsenal is fake
Arsenal target Riccardo Calafiori's partner is threatening legal action after a post appearing to confirm his transfer went viral.
The Bologna defender's girlfriend, Benedetta Boeme, posted a statement on Instagram denying that she was the one who broke the news of Calafiori's confirmed transfer.
talkSPORT understands that the Gunners have They reached an agreement in principle to sign the 22-year-old in a deal worth an initial £34m, rising to £38m in add-ons.
Gunners fans on Saturday picked up a screenshot of a TikTok story from an account called bboeme_, which has Boeme as its profile picture alongside other posts of the pair on its page.
The post on the account read: “A lot of you have been asking me what's been going on in my life lately so I finally decided to share it with you. Riccardo and I are no longer together at the moment.
“I don't know if we'll make it, but I doubt it. I needed some time to process everything that happened in the last 3 or 4 days. I still need time.
“Thank you to everyone who showed me the video that circulated on TikTok this week. I appreciate it; it was important for me to know the truth.
“I've watched it countless times, looking for a reason to forgive and forget, but I couldn't. We talked about it, but I'm still not sure of the answers to my questions.
“It was a difficult decision, one we considered for days. Neither of us wanted this, but what's done is done and I can't help but want to get away from all of this.
“I will not tolerate any kind of hatred towards me or him. I wish him all the best in his move to Arsenal. He has my full support.”
“And if any of my followers feel that they don't want to continue following me now that he's gone, please feel free to unfollow me. Thank you for your understanding.”
Now, however, Boeme has taken to her Instagram to deny that she posted this or even that she has a TikTok account.
Writing about her story to her 40.9k followers, she said: “I am forced to write here that I do not have a TikTok profile! Someone is impersonating me and writing things that are not true!
“This is my only social media account. I have never talked about anything and I never will.
“I kindly ask whoever opened the TikTok profile impersonating me and writing personal and sensitive things, which later appear as articles in the media, to immediately close the profile; otherwise, I will take legal action.”
If signed, Calafiori will be Arsenal's first signing of the summer.
Expert on European football Lars Sivertsen gave talkSPORT a summary on the defender, praising him as a “very confident defender.”
