Ivan Toney has shown he is still a Brentford man at heart after celebrating his goal against Southampton.
The England star completed a costly move away from the Bees on transfer deadline day but was still present at the Gtech Community Stadium to show his support for the team.
Watching from the stands, Toney could be seen smiling and clapping after seeing his former teammate. Bryan Mbeumo put Brentford ahead at the end of the first half.
After Southampton He gave the ball away, Kevin Schade ran towards goal and hit the post before Mbeumo converted the rebound.
Toney's appearance proved the 28-year-old is still part of the Brentford family.
The forward completed a £40 million move to Saudi club Al Ahli in the final hours of the final day of the transfer window.
That move is worth around £50m to the player over his three-year stint in the Saudi Pro League.
But although his four years with Brentford as a player are now over, the head coach Thomas Frank I had nothing but positive things to say about him.
Speaking after the move was announced, Frank said: “It has been a pleasure working with Ivan over the past four years.
“He has averaged more than one goal every two games, which is an incredible figure.
“On the pitch, he has been a fantastic goalscorer, a link-up player and a leader. He has challenged the team, the squad and himself.”
Frank added: “It's a wonderful journey we've been on together. Ivan helped the club and the team, and the club and the team have helped Ivan.
“I am glad that he has the opportunity to try something new in his life and career. We thank him for so many magical moments and wish him all the best for his next chapter. Ivan leaves as a Brentford legend.”
Toney joined Brentford in the summer of 2020 from Peterborough and has made a huge impact at the club.
The striker scored 72 goals in 141 games for the Bees and helped them to promotion from the Championship before consolidating their place in the Premier League.
Mbeumo added a second goal to his strike midway through the second half, before Yoanne Wissa made it 3-0 with just over 20 minutes remaining.
