Jadon Sancho does not want Manchester United to return despite talks with the club and Erik ten Hag's uncertainty
Jadon Sancho does not want to play for Manchester United next season even if Erik ten Hag is sacked, talkSPORT understands.
Sancho has held tentative talks over his future with members of the Red Devils hierarchy after being banished by Ten Hag for accusing the Dutchman on social media of making him a scapegoat.
He has been on loan at his former club. Borussia Dortmund since January, signing until the end of the season.
The Bundesliga club are also keen to bring Sancho back on loan for the 2024/25 campaign, where he scored three goals and two assists in 17 games.
That includes a stellar performance against Paris Saint Germain in his team's 1-0 victory in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Sancho and Ten Hag had a public row at the start of the campaign after the Man United manager said the former England international was not in the squad for the September match. Arsenal shock for 'his performances in training'.
The 24-year-old then responded to his manager on social media, writing: “I won't let people say completely false things, I've behaved very well in training this week… I've been a scapegoat.” For a long time, which isn't fair!”
Sancho was then forced to train away from the first team and went into a hiatus ahead of his departure in the January transfer window.
The winger still has two years left on his current contract with Man United.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag's future at the club is also unclear as he is linked to Bayern Munich and suggestions that the new co-owners of INEOS will want a change in the digging.
However, talkSPORT understands the Dutchman remains committed to Man United.
When asked about Sancho, Ten Hag said: “We are close in that process. We are visiting games where Jadon performed.
“We had a visit with him, we spoke with him and we will continue with this process.”
Sun Briefings have been held with now former director of football John Murtough and director of player negotiations Matt Hargreaves.
Speaking about overcoming their differences at the beginning of the season, Ten Hag said: “There was a conflict and let's finish the season first, so stay away from this problem, it's not important now.”
“They have the semi-final return, they are not doing so well in the league and we have four important games in the league and the FA Cup final and then we will see.”
