Jadon Sancho returns to Manchester United and is ready for a fresh start after positive talks with Erik ten Hag
Jadon Sancho is ready for a fresh start at Manchester United after returning to first-team training.
The winger has held talks with Erik the Hag about their future, and the couple agreed to end their disagreement and move forward.
As a result, Sancho has returned to the first team at Old Trafford, has trained at Carrington and is available for the club's pre-season matches.
While he will not travel to Norway for Monday's friendly against Rosenberg, he will be available to take part in the pre-season campaign in the future.
It is the first time the 24-year-old has trained with the Red Devils in ten months since his fallout with Ten Hag.
Since then, Sancho went on loan to Borussia Dortmund and helped them to the Champions League final, where they lost to real Madrid at Wembley.
Sancho then had an extended break due to his involvement in that game, before returning to United's training ground this week to begin his pre-season preparations.
Manchester United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund three years ago in the summer of 2021 for a fee of £73m.
In that time he has scored 12 goals in 82 appearances and has also provided six assists.
Although his future at the club seemed uncertain at best, he will now be eager to revive his Premier League career.
Speaking to talkSPORT in May, Rio Ferdinand said it was time Sancho was given more respect.
The former England international said: “A lot has been said about him, a lot of it negative, and I think it's time people actually gave him some credit.
“Because I think it's been a very difficult period for him. He's been criticised, rightly or wrongly.
“The situation that arose between him and the coach, we can debate who was right and who was wrong.
“But he has been heavily criticised, confidence has been very low, he entered a period of isolation in terms of training away from the team.
“Now he has gone to Dortmund to rebuild himself as a footballer, as a human being, and he has come out on top.
“Whether he wins the Champions League or not, you have to look at what he's achieved in this short period of time and think: 'You know what? This kid has character.'”
“He has personality, he's made of the right stuff and I think that's where he deserves recognition.”
