Sport1 reports that Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala will sign a contract extension at the club, which will likely last until 2030.
Musiala’s current contract expires in 2026 and sees him earn a single-digit million salary. This extension will see the 21-year-old’s salary rise to €22m, which puts him in the same bracket as Harry Kane and ahead of the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sané, showing his status in the team.
The report stats that the extension will only be signed after the winter break and will likely be at least three years, but as it will come into effect in July of next summer, it is feasible that the extension will be until 2030.
In recent interviews, Musiala has been rather coy about his contract situation:
“I can’t say much about the contract topic. My focus is on the DFB team, and I want to concentrate on the international matches for now. But I’m happy in Munich”
What is clear is that Musiala is Bayern’s most important player, not only now but also in the future. The Stuttgart-born forward is the Rekordmeister’s most creative player and will be central to whatever Bayern achieves in the future. On top of this, his performances for Germany in EURO 2024 showed how he is also becoming an increasingly more important player for the national team.
