James Maddison has put a Tottenham fan firmly in his place after he was criticized for being seen on Ally Pally.
The Spurs star was in attendance for Sunday night's action, which included the reigning champions. Luke Humphries being knocked out by Peter Wright.
Maddison was seen with her Spurs teammate Brennan Johnson just hours after the north London side suffered a disappointing 2-2 draw against Wolves.
On Instagram, one Spurs fan wasn't too impressed with the midfielder's appearance on Ally Pally.
He said: “Are you taking the f***? The way we are and you throwing the darts? Unacceptable.”
But within 12 minutes of receiving the message from fans, Maddison responded in her typical style.
“Shut up, Wally,” he wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Tottenham's 2-2 draw was just the latest example of Spurs' habit of going behind first in games.
Spurs They have become the first team since the inception of the Premier League in 1992 to concede the first goal in 15 home games in a single calendar year.
Spurs have now fallen behind first in seven top-flight home games this season from their ten fixtures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Of those games, they have won just three times: coming from behind to beat Brentford, West Ham and Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, they lost three times (against Arsenal, Ipswich and Liverpool) and drew once, against Wolves.
In the seven home games in which Spurs have fallen behind this season, they have been forced to equalize at half-time on three occasions.
Reflecting on the race, coach Ange Postecoglou said: “It hurts because I'm ultimately responsible. I'm the person in charge. So of course it hurts.”
“When I see how hard they try, it hurts even more because you want them to get a reward and I think they deserved a reward for their efforts even though they were dipping into their energy reserves.
“I wanted them to get a reward for their efforts. So, of course, it hurts. It hurts immensely.
“At the same time, it's my responsibility to know where we are now and it's my responsibility to try to get us out of there.”
Tottenham's next game will be on January 4, when they host Newcastle United.
