Mourinho is putting plans in place to strengthen his squad for the new season with the Swedish centre-back as part of them.
Lindelof is a player that Mourinho knows well since he signed for manchester united in 2017 while the Portuguese coach was in charge.
The Swedish defender, who made a big impression back then, is now seen as the man to anchor FenerbahceThis season's defense.
Lindelof is understood to be a player Manchester United are willing to sell this summer.
However, a move could depend on whether personal terms can be agreed with the centre-back earning a substantial fee at Old Trafford.
