Huth also revealed that the legendary Blues boss once told him to go to bed when he was out with his wife.

When asked which of his former coaches was the angriest, Huth told Drive: “Jose, he had a good run with him, not just with the players, even with his own staff.

“When I wasn't at his level of preparation for training and stuff, it was brutal.

“I sent personnel in if they didn't, like we liked a possession game and one of their assistants' jobs was to throw the ball and we had to readjust the position on the field and it wasn't right.” .

“If it wasn't done correctly he would just stop, hit it and send it around like a little schoolboy.”

The former Germany international also revealed that the boss also gave orders outside the workplace.

He added: “I saw him a few times. Yeah, he said 'it's time to go to bed, Rob.'”

Huth played 36 games under Mourinho between 2004 and 2006, scoring one goal as a centre-back.

He also won two Premier League titles and the League Cup before being sold to Middlesbrough.

However, the 40-year-old continues to praise his former boss, explaining: “Yeah, I mean, Jose was probably the best I've ever had because he just came in and we did sessions that I'd never had before.” .

Huth even admitted that Mourinho once told him when it was his bedtime.

“It was a kind of football, everything was happening, everything was moving.”

Huth continued: “He was brutal, like he was tough. He obviously had his coaches doing stuff and stuff, but he was into it.”

“He was the best he could be. I'm talking about 20 years ago, when he first took office.

“It's the norm now, right? Like the way sessions were set up and all that. But in the past, everyone was like, this is amazing.”

“The first ten days you'd just be running around. Now when he took over, it was like, no, no, no, let's go with the ball and start doing drills.”

Mourinho won another League Cup and FA Cup during his first spell with the Blues.

He returned to the club in 2013 for a second spell in charge, winning the Premier League and League Cup once again during the 2014/15 season.

But he was sacked the following campaign after a poor start to the season which saw them plummet down the table with the club just one point above the relegation zone in December.
