Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa was detained by security after a heated exchange with his own fans.
One fan was even escorted out of Molineux during the first half as tensions rose during another damaging defeat for manager Gary O'Neil.
The wolves were following Bournemouth 3-1 at the time of the incident, which took place just before half-time.
Sa, visibly frustrated, walked around the goal he had been defending and began pointing and shouting at a member of the crowd.
Security quickly intervened, stepping in to prevent him from getting any closer. Shortly afterwards, a fan wearing a Wolves shirt was seen being escorted from the venue by security staff.
It was a difficult match for the Wolves goalkeeper, who conceded four goals throughout the match, three of them from penalties.
To make matters worse for Sa, it was his foul on Bournemouth's Evanilson that led to two of the three penalties.
The Wolves managed to respond early with a Jorgen Strand Larsen header following a Jean-Ricner Bellegarde cross, and the Norway The international added another for himself in the second half.
Strand Larsen's efforts were not enough, as a third penalty Justin Kluivert made it 4-2 at the final whistle.
Kluivert's hat-trick from the penalty spot engraved his name in the history books Additionally, he became the first player to score three penalties in a Premier League match.
His teammate Evanlison also became the first player to win three penalties in a top-flight match.
