Joshua Kimmich, Dayot Upamecano & Serge Gnabry – Bayern Munich injury latest ahead of Bayer Leverkusen clash
Thomas Tuchel gave his Bayern Munich squad a day off on Monday as they prepare for Saturday’s Topspiel against Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
But at Bayern’s Säbener Straße HQ, Joshua Kimmich and Dayot Upamecano trained in the sunshine.
Kimmich trained with the ball for the first time since sustaining a shoulder injury against Union Berlin on January 24, while Upamecano completed a session as the Frenchman works his way back from a hamstring injury.
Not only that, Serge Gnabry and Tarek Buchmann completed individual session but, according to BILD, won’t be an option for Saturday’s game against Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen.
As reported on January 24, Gnabry was around six weeks away from making his return to the Bayern Munich squad, providing the German forward doesn’t suffer any further setbacks.
Gnabry has played just 228 minutes across five Bundesliga games, and is yet to score in the league this season.
