Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he hooked up Trent Alexander-Arnold at half-time against Burnley as an injury precaution.

Liverpool fans fear the worst after the full-back was substituted midway through the Premier League clash at Anfield, having provided the assist on the Reds' first goal.

Alexander-Arnold He was making just his second start since recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for three weeks.

The right back scored the game on the half hour mark and gave an assist for Diogo Jota from a corner for the first goal.

Klopp has revealed that there was a disease that was spreading around the world. Liverpool team and some fans are worried he has the virus.

Despite his absence in the second half, Liverpool managed to seal a 3-1 victory at Anfield to maintain their place at the top of the table.

And he was the man to replace Alexander-Arnold the star, with substitute Harvey Elliott providing two assists.

Burnley threatened to cause an upset when Dara O'Shea pulled the visitors level just before half-time with a header into the area.

But Elliott shined off the bench when Luis Díaz converted his low cross from close range just after the break to make it 2-1.

And he did it again later when his lofted ball into the penalty area was brilliantly headed by an imposing Darwin Núñez to seal the three points.
