Excitement levels have rarely been higher among Aston Villa supporters in recent years as we build up to the start of a new season.
The 2024/25 Premier League campaign is less than 60 days away and the release of the top-flight fixtures has certainly added to the buzz around the claret and blue faithful.

First Five
Villa get their campaign underway with an opening-day trip to east London to face West Ham United on Saturday, August 17 (ko 5.30pm).
The two clubs have played out successive 1-1 draws in the fixture, sharing the same scoreline in three of their five previous meetings at London Stadium.
Villa’s first home match of our 150th anniversary campaign provides a mouth-watering encounter against last season’s Premier League runners-up Arsenal on Saturday, August 24.
John McGinn wrapped up a memorable 1-0 triumph over the Gunners in the corresponding fixture last term, and Villa will be hoping for more of the same.
Unai Emery’s charges then travel to King Power Stadium to face promoted side Leicester City on Saturday, August 31.
The Villans complete their opening five fixtures with a home double-header at Villa Park against Everton on Saturday, September 14 and midlands neighbours Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, September 21, before tackling the Carabao Cup Round 3.
Newcomers
Having made the short journey across the midlands to face the Foxes, Villa’s first top-flight trip to Portman Road since 2002 sees them take on Ipswich Town on Saturday, September 28.
Villa then host Southampton on Saturday, December 7, aiming for a repeat of their victory when the two sides last met in the corresponding fixture in 2022.
Leicester are our first opponents of 2025 as we welcome the Foxes to Villa Park on Saturday, January 4.
We then entertain the Tractor Boys shortly after Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 15, before travelling to St Mary’s Stadium to face Saints on Saturday, April 12.
Festive Fixtures
The visit of reigning champions Manchester City starts our festive schedule on Saturday, December 21.
Leon Bailey’s strike clinched a 1-0 victory over City at Villa Park in 2023/24 and Emery’s side will again be hoping to spread some pre-Christmas cheer.
The claret and blue faithful will make the long journey to the north east to tackle Newcastle United on Boxing Day, while Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors to B6 on Sunday, December 29 in our final match of the year.
Final Five
Villa’s final five fixtures start by travelling to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Saturday, April 26.
Fulham are the visitors to Villa Park on Saturday, May 3 before a spring trip to the south coast to face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, May 10.
The club’s final home match of the season comes against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, May 18, when we will be looking to sign-off on home soil on a high.
Villa then wrap up their 2024/25 campaign with an eagerly-anticipated final-day trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday, May 25 (ko 4pm).
