Enzo Maresca's side drew 1-1 against Nottingham Forest before the international break and will be looking to get back to winning ways on a ground where the Reds beat them 4-1 last season.
Here's a look at how the team could line up against Liverpool:
goalkeeper – Robert Sánchez will maintain his place in the starting eleven. The Spaniard has played in all of Chelsea's games so far in the league and, barring any last-minute surprises, should be between the sticks at Anfield.
Defenders – Enzo Maresca's preferred backline will not be available against Liverpool as both Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are suspended for yellow card accumulation, the latest of which came against Nottingham last time out.
Cucurella will be replaced by Renato Veiga on the left side of the backline, while Malo Gusto will play at right back, as the match against Liverpool could be too early for James Reece start despite being fit and train again.
Wesley Fofana's place in the middle of Chelsea's defense will be taken by Tosin Adarabioyo, who will partner the club's academy graduate and a player Liverpool have been tracking for some time, Levi Colwill.
No changes are expected in the midfield and attack
Midfielders – Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo had a long trip to and from South America due to their international commitments. Fortunately for Chelsea, he has returned without physical concerns and will start as a double pivot.
Cole Palmer will retain his place at the top of the midfield as an attacking midfielder and will be flanked by two familiar names. Noni Madueke is expected to start at right winger and Jadon Sancho will also be in the starting XI against Liverpool this weekend.
Forward – Nicolas Jackson has not scored a goal in his last two Premier League games but will look to break his brief drought when Chelsea need his assets most against Liverpool. He will also start despite Christopher Nkunku's good form in the Conference League.
