Kieran McKenna avoids Premier League interest to sign lucrative new contract that triples Ipswich wages
Ipswich have tied Kieran McKenna to a new contract which reportedly triples the manager's salary.
The ex-manchester united The youth coach was in Chelsea and Brighton's radar after guiding the Tractor Boys back to the Premier League in style.
In just two full seasons at Portman Road, McKenna he has taken Ipswich from League One to the top flight, narrowly missing out on the Championship title to Leicester.
talkSPORT recently reported that the 38-year-old was set to reject interest to continue its development in Ipswich.
And the suffolk suit I have now confirmed that McKenna has signed a new deal to stay until 2028 and talkSPORT understands his earnings are around £3m a year.

“We have enjoyed incredible success together over the last two seasons and I am excited to have the opportunity and responsibility to lead this fantastic club into its first Premier League season in 22 years.
“Preparation and planning for the challenge ahead has been ongoing since we won promotion at the beginning of May, and there is still a lot of work to do before the start of the new season at such an exciting time for everyone in the club.
“I am very happy to have committed my future to taking the next step with Ipswich Town and I am very excited for what lies ahead as we continue this journey together.”
The Ipswich CEO added: “We are delighted that Kieran has further committed his future to the club.
“Success brings its own challenges and there has been considerable speculation in recent weeks, but Kieran and I have continued to communicate, often several times a day, as we plan the Club's first Premier League season in a generation.
“For Kieran, having signed a new contract is a significant boost ahead of such an important campaign, as we continue to work hard in preparation for next season.”
Since taking charge of Ipswich in December 2021, he has won 75 of his 131 games in charge in all competitions and lost just 20 times.
After just six months in the job, he led Ipswich to 11th place in League One, before finishing second the following campaign.
And in the 2023/24 campaign, Ipswich accumulated a whopping 96 points from 46 Championship games, where they only lost six games.
They finished just one point behind champions Leicester, who at one point were 17 points clear at the top.
McKenna will now prepare for a busy summer at Ipswich, who are entering their first top-flight season since 2002.
