Kieran Trippier is pushing to leave Newcastle amid interest from Turkey, talkSPORT understands.
Fenerbahce and Jose Mourinho's Besiktas are among the clubs that have approached Newcastle about Trippier with the Turkish transfer window open until September 13.
Eddie Howe has made it clear that he wants to keep the former England international.
“Absolutely, I want Kieran here,” Howe said recently.
“That has not changed and will not change.”
However, the 33-year-old defender is looking for new horizons after two and a half seasons with Newcastle.
Trippier has been relegated to a place on the bench for Newcastle's first three Premier League games this season, with Tino Livramento starting ahead of him.
The right back was a starter for the Magpies in their Carabao Cup second round victory over Nottingham Forest.
He recently announced his retirement from international service while Livramento took his place in the England team.
A move to Fenerbahce or Besiktas would ensure Trippier plays European football this season, with both clubs qualifying for the Europa League.
If Trippier moves to Fenerbahce, it would be his first time coaching them. Mourinhowhich is run by the Turkish giants.
The right-back would also be reunited with electric French winger Allan Saint-Maximin, who joined the club on a season-long loan from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli.
Besiktas is managed by former Forest Ranger Coach Giovani van Bronckhorst finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig last season.
The former Tottenham defender was also linked with a move to fellow Premier League side Evertonbut it did not materialize.
Trippier moved to Newcastle in January 2022 from Atletico Madrid for just £12m and made an instant impact as Howe steered the club clear of relegation.
He has made 94 appearances for Newcastle, scoring four goals and providing 21 assists.
