Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle before the end of the transfer window.
The defender has been in St. James Park since January 2022 but wants to move away, and his role at the club is likely to be diminished this season.
More traveler He was the first recruit under Saudi ownership and has played a key role in their rise over the past 18 months.
However, he was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, with Tino Livramento playing at right-back.
talkSPORT reported in July that Newcastle were willing to sell the defender this summer.
There has been interest from AC Milan as well as clubs in Turkey, while Bayern Munich remain admirers and were close to signing him in January.
However, The athletic Everton are now reported to be among the clubs interested in signing him.
Trippier has also been replaced as Newcastle captain for this season, with Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes taking his place.
The 33-year-old has just 12 months left on his contract and this is likely the last chance for the Magpies to cash in on him.
They paid around £12m to sign him from Atletico Madrid, where he won the LaLiga title under Diego Simeone.
Trippier started six of England's seven games at Euro 2024 this summer, with the 2-1 final defeat to Spain being the only one in which he did not feature.
Just a month later he found himself in the Newcastle dugout and then appeared in front of 1,000 people to watch an Under-21 game this week.
Last summer, the club signed Livramento from Southampton in a deal worth up to £40m as a future replacement for Trippier.
Everton could now offer him a way out this summer, with the right-back working with Sean Dyche at Burnley.
The former Tottenham player will also turn 34 next month.
Asked about Trippier at a recent press conference, manager Eddie Howe said: “I don't think Kieran is openly looking to leave.
“He's been doing very well in training this week, he's come back with the ambition to play and fight for his place, like every player does in pre-season. I see a player who is totally committed.”
“I see him as an important part of the team and the squad in the future, but as long as we are in this moment with FFP affecting the club, there is still the possibility that someone could leave.
“I'm not going to talk about individual players, but naturally with the arrivals there will also be departures.”
Newcastle's next game is against Bournemouth on Sunday, with kick-off at 2pm.
