Bayern Munich have tonight confirmed that Kingsley Coman will be sidelined for “several weeks” after sustaining an adductor injury during the club’s 2-0 win against FC Köln in the Bundesliga.
The Frenchman was substituted in the 50th minute after going down in the opposition penalty without any contact from an opponent. Coman’s absence of course is a huge blow for Bayern Munich as they prepare for their Champions League game against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are level heading into the second-leg at the Allianz Arena after holding Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates last week. But, Tuchel faces a selection headache with several players missing.
Tough week ahead for Bayern Munich
Alphonso Davies is sidelined for the game against Arsenal after accumulating his third yellow card of the competition. Against Köln, Tuchel opted for Noussair Mazraoui at left-back.
Offensively, Serge Gnabry is sidelined for the foreseeable future, while Leroy Sané was absent from the game against Köln after the German’s pubic bone showed an “expected reaction.” But there is hope that the 28-year-old will feature against Arsenal on Wednesday.
The injury to Coman is obviously the latest player to be sidelined for the Rekordmeister.
