Ezri Konsa says Aston Villa know what’s required of them heading into the final portion of the Premier League season.
The defender and his teammates are desperate to maintain their place in the top four over the final nine games of the season.
Konsa says they will be doing everything they can to do just that, beginning with Saturday’s home game against Wolves.
He said: “We’ve got nine games left in the Premier League, nine finals for us.
“We know what we’ve got to do. As players, we want to play Champions League football and I think the boss is the same.
“We’ve got to take each game as it comes and try to get as many wins as we can.”
On Wolves, Konsa added: “It’s always tough playing a team that’s local to us.
“Since I’ve been here it’s always been a tough fixture for us. Hopefully, we can get the three points for ourselves and the fans.”
The 26-year-old became the 77th Villa player to represent England during the international break when he won his first two caps in friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
It was a massive achievement for the defender, who is now looking to kick on ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
“It was a very proud moment for me and my family,” Villa’s No4 said.
“It’s always been a dream for me since I was a kid to represent my country. For me to be able to do that in both games was a dream come true.”
He added: “I really enjoyed seeing Douglas and Youri on the pitch and sharing the pitch together.
“Representing our countries shows that we’re doing well at Villa, so it was a good thing to see.
“I want to keep working hard, keep improving and helping out the team.”
