Following official confirmation earlier this week that Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, Real Madrid are preparing to bring the 25-year-old to the Spanish capital in the summer. It hasn't been announced yet, but it should arrive in the coming weeks.

When Mbappe's move to Real Madrid is revealed, it ends months and months of speculation about where he will end up after PSG. Los Blancos were still the favourites, although he was linked with numerous Premier League clubs who were also linked. However, those reports were never serious, as Fabrizio Romano said The Daily Briefing.

“The plan, as has been the case for some time, is that Mbappe will move to Real Madrid later, and he wanted to confirm that he has never entered into negotiations with Premier League clubs.

“We have long stories about Mbappe and the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal… but the reality is that Mbappe never wanted to have any discussions with English clubs, first of all because his focus was the Real Madrid and also because he did not want to create more problems with Florentino Perez, the president of the Bernabeu, when he decided to refuse and sign a new contract with PSG in 2022.

“On that occasion, Mbappe negotiated for a long time with Real Madrid before changing his mind, and so this time he did not want to create problems. There has been nothing in recent times – the most recent thing has been when Liverpool asked about him in 2022, but then the financial package was absolutely impossible. So in 2023 and 2024 there was nothing with the English clubs, because his obsession was to join Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid they are already one of the best teams in Europe, and adding Mbappe to their ranks will only make them stronger. It's certainly never an exciting time to be a Madridista, especially with another Champions League final around the corner.
