La Liga tells Barcelona that more documentation is needed to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor

Barcelona are scrambling to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in the next 36 hours, knowing that if they don't, neither will be able to play for the rest of the season. They are working on various plans to make that happen.

One of them is a suspension of the “un-record” court of Olmo and Victor, which they cite as a violation of the right to work of the players. Their initial case was rejected, and they have now submitted it to a different court, with a decision expected today.

The other option is to increase their salary limit, which they will seek to do through the sale of assets. The Blaugrana have already sent the contract documents to the League to ensure a consummate speed in the registration of the players. The Catalan giants plan to sell the commercial rights to their VIP boxes at Camp Nou for the next 20 years to two Qatari companies for around 100 million euros they say. Marcoalthough other reports have put this figure at 120 million euros.

However, the League wants to be very careful Barcelona. They will require documents showing the money in the Barcelona accounts before signing the change of their salary limit, and thus the registrations of Olmo and Victor. Barcelona believes that the agreement could be tied today, but not done at 100%, although the two parties have already signed three main contracts.

It makes sense that Liga would be wary of these deals, given the sales of Barca Vision saw the Blaugrana take home just €40m of the €200m they were due. Those deals have burned a hole in his salary cap ever since, after a year in which the Blaugrana have suffered losses. A broader question worth asking is whether selling assets for a single star signing is value for money.
