A series of rumors surrounding Kylian Mbappe's trip to Stockholm last week filled the headlines in Spain this week, after Swedish police confirmed that a rape investigation was underway at the hotel where the French. His lawyer Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard argued that it would be impossible for his client to be involved.
Now Le Parisien (via Marco) have stated that Mbappe he had sexual relations with a woman in the hotel, but that was consensual. After the event, the couple exchanged messages, and spoke positively about their time together, which is described as a “happy meeting”. They also say there is no confirmation that the woman in question is the same one who filed the rape complaint with the authorities.
They also say that Mbappe arrived back at the hotel with several members of his group, and a number of women, after attending the V nightclub. Among that group was France and Bayer Leverkusen defender Nordi Mukiele, who the convince to go on a trip.
At no time did the authorities suggest that he might be involved, while various media outlets claimed he was a suspect in the case, and others claimed otherwise. Canu-Bernard appeared in the media on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, stating on both occasions that Mbappe is calm and has a clear conscience. She has too suggested that Mbappe could be settled.
