Ledley King told talkSPORT there was a Tottenham star who reminded him of a young Ronaldinho.
King spent more than 15 years in Spurs and I witnessed true talent emerge from their ranks.
However, he recalled seeing a young man on an under-16 team who impressed him.
That was Giovani Dos Santos. The Mexican joined Barcelona's La Masia Academy at the age of 13 before playing 38 times for the senior team.
In 2008, he earned a move to Spurs, where he played with centre-back King.
When asked if there were any youngsters he had played against and told to sign to the Spurs, King said Time to drive: “I haven't faced any, but I have seen players who seemed incredible to me.
“I remember seeing Giovanni Dos Santos when he played with Mexico in an Under-16 tournament. He looked like Ronaldinho, but in a younger version.
“I didn't say I was going to buy him, but I just thought he was going to be a star.
“He ended up joining, but it didn't quite work out for him. He was a great talent.”
He added: “We had (Gareth) Bale, Dos Santos, Kevin Prince Boateng, Adel Tarabbt. “These were all talented young players.”
Dos Santos played just 33 times for Tottenham before returning to LaLiga, on loan at Ipswich, Galatasaray and Racing Santander.
He enjoyed success in MLS with the LA Galaxy and ended up playing over 100 international matches for Mexico, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup three times with his national team, as well as Olympic gold at London 2012.
