Lee Carsley names Ligue 1 star as one of four debutants in first England squad following Gareth Southgate
Lille star Angel Gomes is one of four new players called up to Lee Carsley's first-team England squad.
The 23-year-old has impressed since he came out. Manchester United to embark on a new adventure in France in 2020.
Joining Gomes, selected for the first time, are Noni Madueke, Morgan Gibbs-White and Tino Livramento.
Provisional England Boss Carsley knows all about the quality of Gomes, Madueke and Gibbs-White, with the trio playing a part in the Young Lions' success at last year's European Under-21 Championship.
Madueke, in particular, has started the new season in fine form, having scored a hat-trick for Chelsea in their recent 6-2 away win against Wolves.
Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer, who were also part of CarsleyThe Spanish team that beat Spain 1-0 in the U-21 European Championship final has also been called up for the Nations League.

Carsley revealed at his press conference that there has been no change in White's decision to return to England for the first time since 2022.
He said: “As far as I know, I was not available for selection (before) and nothing has changed in my two weeks here.”

Meanwhile, Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw, Adam Wharton, Aaron Ramsdale, Lewis Dunk, Ivan Toney and Joe Gomez have all been left out despite being part of England's Euro 2024 squad.
Kieran Trippier has since retired from international football and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is unavailable for selection due to a leg injury.

Lewis' only international appearance came in November 2023, where he featured in a Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia.
But having started in Manchester CityWith his first two Premier League wins, the 19-year-old has earned his England call-up, where he will now hope to add more caps to his one-time cap next month.
His teammate at the Citizens Jack Grealish He is also back in the squad after his absence at Euro 2024, despite playing just 19 minutes of football this season.
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire also returns after missing the European Championship through injury.
Carsley suggested veteran Walker's absence from Man City was due to his lack of minutes since a busy summer with England, while he is happy to bring Maguire back on the pitch.
He said: “The fact that Kyle hasn't played this season suggests that City are bringing him in carefully. We have to respect that.”
“Harry Maguire missed the Euro 2019 squad due to injury. I see him as a great leader, especially with the centre-backs we have.”
Carsley is also confident Nottingham Forest's Gibbs-White and Lille's Gomes can make the step up to senior midfield after impressing for the Under-21s.
“Morgan is a very attacking player, full of energy, very creative, very exciting,” he added.
“He's had a lot of success with England and I think that's important. A lot of the players we've called up are used to winning.”
“Angel is very technical, he controls the game with his finishing and his technique. He is very determined, has a great attitude and loves football. I think he is a player that people will be excited to watch.”
On taking charge of the England senior team, he continued: “I think it's a real proud moment, obviously, for my family and myself.
“It's been a really hectic couple of weeks, trying to come to terms with the magnitude of the job and trying to get in as many games as I can.
“I think it's fair to say that the job that Gareth and Steve (Holland) did and the position I'm in picking the team is totally different to when they picked it.
“I understand that I am in a really privileged position and I am excited to meet the players.
“I thought it was important that we bring in some new faces and make our mark on the team.”
