Liverpool and Arsenal They are reportedly showing great interest in signing Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres, according to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Reds already have Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez as the two options to deploy in the center forward position. But, while the Portuguese has struggled with his injury problems in recent years and is currently injured, the Uruguayan has found it difficult to show his efficiency in front of goal.
So, it seems that the Merseyside club has started looking at options to sign Núñez and Jota. Now, writing in unknown, Plettenberg claims that Liverpool are showing great interest in signing Gyokeres to strengthen the attacking department.
The Sweden international has an £83million release clause in his current contract, but has reached an agreement with the Lions to leave the club next year and take the next step in his career if his potential suitors make an offer of al minus £50 million.
There is very little chance of him leaving Sporting in January and he is expected to do so at the end of this season.

The journalist further states that Arsenal are also interested in acquiring the 26-year-old and, along with them, city of manchester and Chelsea They are also considering doing something for him.
In the summer it was reported that the Gunners wanted to strengthen the number nine position by signing a prolific goalscorer and Gyokeres emerged as a serious option.
However, they ultimately opted not to sign a new striker before the deadline. It now appears that the north London club are looking to strengthen their attack in 2025.
The Sporting star has been one of the most prolific scorers in Europe in recent years. He helped the Portuguese giants win the league title last season and has also started the new campaign brightly, winning all nine league games so far.
Gyokeres possesses the necessary attributes to play in a high-intensity league like the first division so it would be a huge coup for Arsenal or Liverpool if either club acquired him.
However, it will be interesting to see if the Merseyside club and the North London club will eventually come to blows on this deal next summer.
