Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes has given fans an intriguing prediction about the transfer window as he begins his tenure.

He said: “When there are important competitions during the summer – a European Championship, a Copa America and also the Olympic Games – a lot of football is being played, naturally the attention is going to be there.
“And I think that after the wave of problems that there were in June (throughout the Premier League), now everything will calm down a bit.
“That would be my prediction for the month of July.
“And then, as always, when August starts and the coaches have had more time to work with the players, I think then the opinions will be more defined in the football clubs.
“And then we might see a situation in August, like in previous seasons, with a bit of a rush to get things done and make sure everyone's teams are in order.
“I don't think this will be any different, but who knows what will happen financially? It's difficult to say and speak for other clubs.
“But that was probably the case in June and that's why things happened the way they did.
“But I think there will be a quiet July and then, perhaps, a crescendo in August awaits us all.”
As for Slot, who has had success Jurgen Klopp On the Anfield bench, he has been timid when it comes to reinforcing his team.
Insisting that he had joined a star-studded team, he said: “We have inherited a good team.
“The way I see football, I can see how important it is to work every day.
