Liverpool confirm club icons Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip will leave Anfield as free agents at the end of the season.
Liverpool have confirmed that Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip will soon leave the club when their contracts expire.
The two players will see their deals run until the end of the season and the club will reveal they will be leaving along with manager Jurgen Klopp.
In a social media post on Friday morning, Liverpool wrote: “Thiago Alcantara's time with the Reds will come to an end this summer when his contract expires.
“A really special player. Thanks for everything, Thiago.”
A second post also read: “Joel Matip will bid farewell to the Reds this summer after a spell of eight seasons during which he helped the club to some of its most memorable modern moments.
“Thank you for everything, Joel.”
