Italian tax laws reportedly force Divock Origi to remain at AC Milan despite his omission from the first team.
the forward signed in July 2022 after an eight-year period in Liverpool for whom he made 175 appearances in all competitions.
Origi appears regularly in Milan in his debut season before returning to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest on loan.
However, the 29-year-old appears surplus to requirements at San Siro as he is no longer included in the first-team picture.
In the summer, senior advisor and club legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic said Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure are part of his under-23 team.
“It is not true that they have not been summoned,” he stated in a press conference via CalcioMercato.
“Both have been called up, but for Milan Futuro. They are not part of the first team.”
Origi may therefore be interested in leaving in the hope of returning to senior action, but this could prove difficult for the 29-year-old.
As reported by the daily mailForeign workers are offered tax benefits as part of Italy's growth decree, but must remain in the country for six months a year.
Origi should therefore remain in Milan even though he is unlikely to feature for the first team as his contract does not expire soon.
The Belgian is said to be earning £3.24million a year at Milan with a deal that will run until the end of the 2025/26 season.
A January move could be a possibility for Origi after a poor spell at the Italian giants that followed his status as a fan favorite at Liverpool.
The striker joined the Reds from Lille in 2014, but was sent back to the French team on loan for this season.
Origi made his debut for Liverpool in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United, but finished the 2015/16 campaign with ten goals in 33 games.
It was the 2018/19 season in which the Belgian really made a name for himself at Anfield by scoring the winning goal against rivals Everton.
Origi then scored twice in Liverpool's iconic 4-0 Champions League semi-final second leg victory over Barcelona.
The forward came off the bench in the final against Tottenham and scored the second of the game before lifting the trophy.
He scored a total of 41 goals for Liverpool and provided a further 15 assists before completing his move to Milan two years ago.
