The 25-year-old plays for Hungarian team Ferencvaros, but it is his striking looks rather than his game-changing features that have already made him a fan favourite.

Saldanha is widely seen as the double of former striker Roberto Fimino and after meeting the player, Reds fans are feeling an air of nostalgia.

One social media account posted a photo of the star along with the caption: “I don't care who he is or what he does. “Send scouts.”

Another fan wrote: “A Firmino clone.”

A third fan added: “His name is Fobby Birmino.”

One last fan wrote: “I see Bobby, bring him now!”

Liverpool Fans won't have much time to get their first taste of Saldanha as he lines up with Ferencvaros against Tottenham in the Europa League on Thursday, live on talkSPORT 2.

The striker has played just four times for Ferencvaros after completing a summer move from Partizan Belgrade, but has already scored a staggering six goals in just four games for his new team.

Spurs fans will hope boss Ange Postecoglou has done his homework on the little-known striker who has made a huge impact in his new surroundings.

The Ferencvaros forward has had a spectacular start to the season with six goals in four games.

Saldanha's path to European football took an unconventional path, as he began at Brazilian club Bahia.

A move to the Japanese second division side followed in 2021 before spells in China and Azerbaijan brought him to Partizan, where he scored an impressive 21 goals in 40 games for the Serbian giants.

The Brazilian, who is not capped for his country at any level, will relish the opportunity to take on Premier League rivals and put himself in the showcase.

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Liverpool have one of the three best midfielders in the Premier League in Ryan Gravenberch, who is flourishing under Arne Slot.

All that remains is for Reds fans to convince club bosses of the striker's value if they are to have the second coming of a third of the club's attack that won the Champions League in 2019.

Meanwhile, Liverpool They have their own European business to attend to this week when Serie A side Bologna visit Anfield on Wednesday, live on talkSPORT 2.

The Italians drew goalless against Shakhtar Donetsk on the first day and head to Merseyside dreaming of causing a surprise.
