Caoimhin Kelleher is reportedly a summer transfer target for Chelsea amid his possible exit from Liverpool.

The Irish He has been the Reds' second trusted goalkeeper behind Alisson since making his debut for the club in 2019.

Kelleher has mainly featured in cup competitions and has just 20 Premier League appearances across six seasons.

Liverpool announced in the summer that Georgian Giorgi Mamardashvili will join from Valencia for the 2025/26 campaign.

This means Kelleher could reduce the goalkeeping pecking order at Anfield, but first-team football could be offered elsewhere.

As reported by the sunChelsea are monitoring the 25-year-old ahead of a possible transfer next summer.

However, he said the Reds may not be willing to sell a player of his quality, valued at £35m, to a Premier League rival.

However, Chelsea could help facilitate an exit if they meet the asking price.

Italian giants Juventus and Napoli are also understood to be interested, but it is claimed Kelleher would prefer to remain in the Premier League if possible.

Robert Sánchez is Chelsea's current number one with Enzo Maresca, and Filip Jorgensen is their cup goalkeeper since his arrival in the summer.

Marcus Bettinelli and Lucas Bergstrom are other options, with players such as Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan.

Despite such strong competition for places, Kelleher would be one of the Blues' top acquisitions if they were to agree a deal with Liverpool.

Alisson's recent absence with a hamstring injury has seen Kelleher start Liverpool's last four Premier League games.

He also featured in their Champions League victories over RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, and the Carabao Cup victory against West Ham.

However, although Liverpool are unbeaten with Kelleher in goal this season, Alisson will once again be first choice upon his return.

“He is and will be our first goalkeeper if he is fit. But first he needs to be fit,” said coach Arne Slot in the Night Standard.

“But Caoimhin has done exceptionally last season and also this season, but the moment Alisson is fit, he will be our first goalkeeper.”
