Liverpool injury list makes grim reading as Ryan Gravenberch stretchered off in Carabao Cup final

Liverpool's extensive injury list was compounded after Ryan Gravenberch was stretchered off during the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

The Dutchman lasted only 25 minutes at Wembley before being destroyed after a Crunchy late challenge from Moisés Caicedo.

The 21-year-old's ankle felt the full force of the Chelsea Horror tackle from the midfielder and he couldn't continue.

He was later seen on the Liverpool bench during the second half on crutches.

Gravenberch is now the 12th senior player added to the Liverpool treatment room that left the club seriously depleted in the final.

Liverpool suffered four injuries during their 4-1 victory Brentford earlier this month, with Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones leave the stadium on crutches.

The pair will now be sidelined for the foreseeable future, with Darwin Nunez also substituted at half-time in west London.

Klopp confirmed that the measure was preventivebut Núñez missed the 4-1 victory over Luton and the Carabao Cup final due to a muscle problem.

In addition Mohamed Salah – who had just returned against Brentford after a hamstring injury – again suffered the problem that has interrupted the Egyptian's progress.

Joel Matip and youngster Ben Doak are out long-term with knee problems, but Dominik Szoboszlai is getting closer to a comeback.

Fellow midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who enjoyed a great campaign last season, has yet to play a single minute this year.
