Liverpool injury news: Klopp gives boost to Núñez and Szoboszlai and update to Salah for clash with Nottingham Forest
Liverpool's extensive injury list will be slightly relieved when they return to Premier League action against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
The reds were plunged into crisis during a turbulent February where the club's attack on four fronts had a significant cost.
Jurgen Klopp have been forced to turn to academy stars to secure an FA Cup victory Southamptonwhich occurred days after his Carabao Cup triumph.
Liverpool remains leader of the Premier League and can extend its lead by one point city of manchester against Forest this weekend.
Klopp confirmed Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai may be available but Mohamed Salah has been discarded.
Wataru Endo and Andy Robertson are also being monitored due to a knock and illness respectively.
Endo, who played the duration of 120 minutes in the Carabao Cup final, he left Wembley Stadium on crutches and was lost in midweek.
On the fitness of his team, Klopp said: “Darwin and Dom trained with the team yesterday. So they looked good, but we have to wait (to see) how they react. Wataru and Robbo didn't do it, but the plan they join today exists. That's the idea but we have to see if it really works.
“Ibou (Ibrahima Konate), nothing, (him not starting against Southampton) was just time sharing. Lucho (Luis Díaz) is fine, Macca (Alexis Mac Allister) is fine. They all look good.
“The little problem we couldn't know is that Macca was sick for a day and a half, I'd say, and Robbo had the same thing, so I hope that doesn't spread now. So far I haven't heard anything (but) I didn't ask because I probably don't want to know! “Then we'll see.”
Salah's absence continues to be a hard blow for Liverpoolwho had just returned from a month-long injury in a 4-1 win against Brentford before aggravating the problem again.
When pressed on Salah, Klopp: “I don't think Mo is too far away, but he won't be there tomorrow and we have to go from there.
“It's like touch and go… but I think next week at any time is possible. “It’s definitely on the way back, but it’s not there yet.”
That Brentford match that left Salah out again was also responsible for the injuries suffered by both Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones.
