Real Madrid could be looking to sign a new right-back next summer, with current options Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez seeing their contracts expire at the end of this season. Also, both players are coming towards the end of their respective careers, and for now, there is no obvious success.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is someone Real Madrid have an interest in, and they will be chasing him in the coming months if he should be available as a free agent next summer. Speaking on Three Up Front, William Hill's podcast, Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes a move to the Spanish capital is entirely possible for the England international.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold is suitable for Real Madrid in terms of the way he plays, and he has an incredible delivery – not to mention that he is a good friend of Jude Bellingham. He could end up at Madrid and that message may have already been sent to Liverpool.
“I don't see any obvious reason to take Trent off against Manchester United unless they know he's leaving. They'll still want to keep him on the side for the rest of the season and he'll be on a free at the end of it. The message that he he decided he may have already been sent to the top of the club. If you are going to leave Liverpool, where else can you really go to improve yourself?”
It remains to be seen if Alexander-Arnold ends up Real Madrid. If he does, there's no doubt he'd be a fantastic addition.
