Liverpool star Alexis MacAllister's father rules out Real Madrid move but doesn't rule out future transfer
Alexis Mac Allister has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the Argentine will remain at Liverpool… for now.
That is the view of the midfielder's father, who discussed his son's future at Anfield following his move to Merseyside last summer.
Liverpool paid Brighton a bargain £35million for the World Cup winner after triggering his release clause.
Mac Allister had an impressive debut season with the Reds, helping his side lift the Carabao Cup and book a return to the Champions League.
The 25-year-old is no stranger to trophies after lifting the World Cup in 2022 and, more recently, the America Cup.
His exploits have caught the attention of the LaLiga champions real MadridHowever, father Charles has calmed Liverpool fans' fears by saying the star will remain at Anfield – for now.
“Alexis is playing very well for Liverpool and that's the important thing to say at the moment,” Mac Allister's father told Egyptian site MSR.
“There are no negotiations between Real Madrid and Alexis and the player will continue at Liverpool next season.
“If any future offers to sign Alexis arrive, we will discuss them with the Liverpool board first.”
Mac Allister has spoken openly of his happiness at Liverpool after news of Real Madrid's alleged interest broke.
Speaking to Argentine channel TyC Sports, he said: “Everything is fine, it's not a club with big egos and everyone tries to help you as much as they can.”
“On the pitch everything is different, because outside everything can be very nice, but on the pitch you have to perform. I have played in several positions and I have enjoyed it a lot. I am happy to be at a club as big as Liverpool.”
