Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal he could fight Royal Society star Martin Zubimendi in January.
Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for Zubimendi ahead of the 2024/25 season with a well-publicised push to bring him to Merseyside.
However, despite his efforts, Zubimendi opted against moving away from his boyhood clubwith Liverpool turning to other options.
After a strong start to the campaign, Arne Slot had already hinted that the door was closed to Zubimendi at Anfield, after confirmation of his failure to sign him.
However, according to reports from Teamtalk.comthat interest could be revived in early 2025 with Slot pragmatic about his team options.
Zubimendi's €60m (£50.1m) fee remains in place – which Liverpool were previously willing to pay – and a move for him still has support from Liverpool's ownership.
The main obstacle could come from the interest of rivals Arsenal, who are tracking the 25-year-old at the start of 2024. but instead signed his former La Real teammate Mikel Merino in August.
Both clubs can pay his release clause, and offer lucrative wages, but the final decision rests with Zubimendi.
