Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich attacker Jamal Musiala, but will have to pay at least £85 million to sign him, according to a BILD report via Transfers.
The 20-year-old German international is considered a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah – who could be leaving Anfield at the end of the season. The Egyptian was heavily linked with a departure from the club at the start of the season and Saudi Arabian clubs were interested in him.
With only one year remaining on his contract at the end of this season, it would not be a surprise if Liverpool sold him while he is still good value if he does not sign a new contract in the coming months.
Musiala could be a quality long-term replacement for the Liverpool star. He is widely regarded as a world-class talent and could become a key player for the Reds.
Liverpool will have to pay £85 million
Transfers They are citing a report from the print version of image which claims that Bayern Munich will not accept anything less than £85 million for the attacker. Liverpool should receive much more than that for Salah, so they will have the funds to tempt Bayern into a deal for Musiala if they want him bad enough.
Musiala has seven goals and three assists this season. He can act as both a winger and a false nine. He also has the technical attributes to thrive in the number ten role. Stylistically he could look like Roberto Firmino or a direct replacement for Salah at Liverpool.
There is no doubt that he is an elite talent with a great future. He could end up justifying the investment in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen if the Reds will be able to close the deal.
