The leader of Spain Luis de la Fuente is already looking to the future after winning the Euro 2024 title.
The Red held off a late challenge from England to secure a first European title since 2012 as Mikel Oyarzabal grabbed a winner in Berlin.
In a night of nerves in the German capital, Spain showed the grit they needed, especially to react to England's equalizer.
De la Fuente was full of joy as he praised his players for getting over the line at the Olympiastadion.
He was clear in his assessment that Spain is now the No. 1 team in the world and stated that there is still more to come before qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
“I couldn't be happier, seeing the fans, the players.” as for Brand.
“It was a wonderful day, where a real team was crowned. For me they are the best in the world.
“We can always improve, that's our goal. In this team we always think we can be better.
Spain are in UEFA Nations League action in September against Serbia and Switzerland, with the draw for World Cup qualification set for December.
Qualification for the tournament itself begins in March 2025 and the pre-play off stage ends in November.
