Police were called to an altercation involving Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes at a Madrid nightclub last month.
talkSPORT understands the Portugal international was being harassed by a man with a phone at the sprawling La Riviera nightclub on September 8.
Nunes pleaded with the man to stop before taking the phone from his hand, prompting a call to local police.
However, the police decided that no further action was necessary after arriving at the scene.
Nunes was enjoying some time with friends in Spain after being left out of the Portugal squad during the most recent international break.
The 26-year-old has played six times for Manchester City this season, most recently playing the full 90 minutes during the 4-0 victory against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.
Nunes' first start of the season came in the recent 2-1 win over Watford in the Carabao Cup, in which she scored the winning goal.
The Portuguese midfielder came off the bench for the first division champions in their first game after the international break: a 2-1 victory over Brentford.
City paid £53m to sign Nunes from Wolves in the summer of 2023 and the midfielder is expected to be a key player this season after team-mate Rodri was released. ruled out for the season through injury.
However, Nunes has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Pep Guardiola's team, primarily acting as a substitute since his arrival.
Speaking after Nunes scored in the win over Watford, Guardiola admitted the “incredible” midfielder still has some adjusting to do.
The City manager said: “He has special qualities that few players have, he is unique.
“In space, the transitions, it's incredible. I am very happy for him and for the goal.
“He will score more. Even so, there are things to read and understand, sometimes it is not easy for players to adapt.
“I'm very happy for him, because he's a lovely guy and lovely boys always deserve good things.”
