Man United fans were helped by stewards after the advertising board collapsed during goal celebrations in Liverpool.
The Anfield advertising billboards could not contain the joy of Manchester United fans after Lisandro Martínez's goal.
Martínez scored the first goal in what turned out to be a vibrant 2-2 draw between the famous rivals.
In a rare foray forward, the United captain introduced centre-back Martínez Bruno Fernandez and produced an infallible shot to beat Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
The Argentinian's goal sparked euphoria among traveling United fans.
However, the celebrations literally boiled over when some of the United fans at the visiting team's front fell onto the advertising banners.
Even some of the hostesses fell to the ground, such was the chaotic nature of the celebrations.
Fortunately, the fans who fell to the ground were quickly helped to their feet.
It was Martínez's second goal in all competitions for United and his first since January 22, 2023, when he scored in a 3-2 loss to Arsenal.
Martinez's goal also ended United's wait for a goal at Anfield, with Wayne Rooney's goal in January 2016 the last time the Red Devils found the net at their rivals' home.
The wait even lasted a whopping 45 shots.
Unfortunately for United, their joy and lead was short-lived as Cody Gakpo scored the equalizer just seven minutes later.
A brief VAR check for offside followed, but the Dutchman stayed in and the goal stood.
United's problems were compounded in the 70th minute when Mohamed Salah scored his 18th league goal of the campaign from the penalty spot.
Liverpool were awarded a penalty after a handball by United's Matthijs de Ligt and Salah took it, although Andre Onana guessed the right way and appeared to have his finger on the ball.
However, Liverpool's lead lasted only 10 minutes.
Once again United advanced down Liverpool's right when Alejandro Garnacho was allowed to place a ball right into the path of Amad Diallo, who had timed his run perfectly.
Diallo sent Garnacho's cross through the legs of Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and past Alisson as the United fans were once again delirious with joy.
Both Liverpool and United had chances to steal the three points late on.
A header was thrown into Virgil van Dijk's path from a Liverpool corner, but the Dutch giant drove his shot straight at Onana.
United centre-back Harry Maguire also had the chance to put his name in the spotlight, but failed.
Joshua Zirkzee had been released on the right and cut the ball towards Maguire, who was unmarked in the middle of the Liverpool box.
However, Maguire's shot flew over the bar and Garnacho, who was behind the defender, fell to his knees.
The result helped Liverpool take a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, although they were left to rue what could have been against the Red Devils.
As for United, it ended a four-game losing streak and helped them finish the weekend in 13th place with 23 points.
